I couldn't leave a photo of a zebra out as the Crawshay's zebra is unique to South Luangwa differing to other zebras with stripes appearing all the way down the legs.
No two zebras have the same markings and the left hand side of the body also differs from the right.
The skin is black and the Crawshay's zebra has narrow evenly spaced stripes .
The zebras I came across seemed much more relaxed with each other - perhaps because there were so few of them. They live in family groups staying together for protection against predators - they are popular lion food.
The youngster in the photo is doing well considering the lack of grass at the moment but it was the only foal I saw.
