Just over a year ago I witnessed these cheetahs as very young cubs born to an amazing mother. There were and still are 5 cubs but the mother has now left them to their own devices. They hunt together as a coalition and they are prolific hunters.
Astonishingly they hunt in the middle of lion territory and here 2 of them have killed a wildebeest. The others were not to be seen but as you can see from the long grass, they could be lying down anywhere near.
Spotting wildlife is terribly difficult and when you do see something you pray for the right conditions. Light, short grass etc etc and then you hope that something will happen - maybe some action or interaction.
If all of the elements come together then it makes a fabulous photo but remember - it's only a photo and not the end of the world if things don't pan out to your liking. Enjoying the moment is the main thing - a photo just jogs the memory.
