The Thornicroft giraffe is only found in Zambia and this male is a fine example. The Red billed Oxpeckers are removing ticks and insects and keeping any wounds clean from disease.
The lion and lioness are still in the process of mating and the dead hippo is still floating in the shallows with the crocodiles in full force.
I travelled further out this afternoon to look for painted dogs. The scrubland was full of tsetse flies and of course I got bitten by every one of them !
The dogs have had pups and have left the den but today was a no show - but I have another week here so who knows?
