Well the car actually broke down yesterday. The sand on the roads, the dust and the uneven rocky road broke the gearbox. I managed to limp in 2nd gear all the way back down to the Bandas and then stayed there all day awaiting the Black Leopard mechanics from Nairobi - 4-5 hours away. It is also a bank holiday so things are really slow. The mechanics came at 5pm and took out the old gearbox - put a new one in in the dark (the electricity went off). Amazing work.
