A long twelve hours out today predominantly looking for Painted Dogs. Eventually, down in a gully were six adorable puppies and thirteenĀ adults. SomeĀ adults had just returned from hunting and were regurgitating food for the pups who were yipping with delight.
I saw lions, leopards, hyaena, warthog, puku, impala and many water birds too There were hippos galore and crocodiles aplenty but todays photo is dedicated to the elephant.
Sadly a rogue bull elephant was venturing into the village and causing problems. A certificate to shoot him was applied for and verified. The rangers came and shot him. Villagers came and took the meat and the tusks were taken to be destroyed.
