This morning the vultures were finishing off the remains of the elephant carcass. A sad sight to see but nothing is wasted. This hooded vulture will pick the bones clean, the maribou stork will tackle the bones and sinews too and the hyaena will crunch the bones with their powerful jaws.
The blood stains carpeted the ground, remnants of skin the last remaining bits of flesh.
I will return to happier times tomorrow.
