An afternoon with no other vehicles suited me just fine after yesterday's leopard fiasco. Driving past these two male giraffes I noticed that their backsides were pushing against each other - a test of strength.
Being patient and knowing animal behaviour is an important part of wildlife photography and today it paid off with the giraffes having a fight for supremacy.
The older and slightly taller on the left was taking control but the younger giraffe was not ready to give up the battle.
Surprisingly another older male came and these two scarpered - running off with their tails between their legs. Definitely unusual behaviour - just like two naughty boys being told off by their father.
